about me
My name is Kali (she/they). I am artist, illustrator, yoga instructor, cat fanatic, animal lover, and weird human that likes to create. I have created illustrations for over 30 children's books, I complete art commissions and attend local conventions/art festivals, and I offer yoga at a couple local studios. I also work at my local zoo part time, and it's so much fun!My general interests vary greatly from art, video games, reading, mythology and culture, music, fantasy and sci-fi, Asian dramas, and Asian cultures (especially Korean). My favorite fandoms are Pokémon, Harry Potter, Xena, Sailor Moon, Dragon Ball Z, Chi's Sweet Home, Avatar: The Last Airbender, Steven Universe, Arcane (League of Legends), Ghibli (Spirited Away and Kiki's Delivery Service especially), and so much more. My style definitely leans towards colorful and cute, but I like to experiment and experience other artistic expressions!x

Terms of Service
By commissioning the Artist or purchasing any artwork, you as the Client agree to all the below Terms of Service.
AGREEMENTS
By commissioning the Artist, you as the Client agree to all the below Terms of Service.
Artist retains the right to display commissioned artwork in portfolios, website, or social media for promotional purposes, unless otherwise agreed upon.
Artist retains the right to license or sell the non-original artwork to others, unless Client requests and purchases exclusive rights to the artwork. (Non-original artwork means that if you have purchased, for example, an original painting it is yours. Artist may make prints of and then sell non-original versions of that artwork.)
COMMISSIONED ART IS FOR YOUR PERSONAL USE ONLY, unless otherwise specified in contract for commercial use. Please do not reproduce, resale, or market my artwork without permission and appropriate fees or conditions specified.
Commissioned art must not be altered or modified in any way without artist consent. This includes leaving signatures, tags, and other information artist may include.
Client cannot claim authorship or sell prints (or any version otherwise) of commissioned art without permission.
If Client wishes to use commissioned artwork for a product for commercial use (i.e. books, games, etc.), the price will be different from ones listed above. Client must first discuss with Artist about specifications of use, any fees, and royalties.
If Client wishes to put art on items like pins, t-shirts, or other merch, the price will be different from the ones listed above. Client must first discuss with Artist regarding specifications of use, any fees, and possible royalties.
If Client requests artwork to be shipped, Client must pay for shipping and handling and any insurance (if desired). Artist is not liable for any damages that happen during the shipping and delivery process.
PAYMENT & REFUNDS
Payment MUST be made up front. Receiving at least 50% of the price charged is necessary before I can start the commission.
Do NOT send any payment until I tell you that I am ready to begin - it will be rejected. I will first request specifics, references, and discuss timeline and pricing. Then I will request deposit or full payment and may send an invoice.
I currently take Venmo, Paypal, Square, or CashApp for payment. Please do not offer alternative payment sites. If you cannot use those two methods due to extenuating circumstances please let me know.
I will send you an invoice with a detailed breakdown of the agreed upon commission details and pricing. For Paypal or Square, please pay through the website/app using the invoice. For Venmo or CashApp, pay as normal and keep the invoice for your own records as needed.
PLEASE provide references. If you are commissioning me to draw something without a reference pic (i.e. just a text description of a character), I will charge AT LEAST 25% of the base commission price for additional time.
If you wish to get a refund, I will give a full refund if I have not started drawing the commission. If I had already started drawing it and you want a refund, a partial refund can be given. Partial refund depends on the amount of work already completed.

FAQ & INFORMATION
I reserve the right to use any of the commission work in my personal portfolios.
I reserve the the right to refuse a commission.
I will not draw any art that involves certain fetishes, porn, or extreme gore/guro. I WILL ALSO NOT DO NFT OR AI COMMISSIONS.
My art is not AI art. YOU MAY NOT USE MY ART FOR AI.
PLEASE provide references. Aside from additional charges you may incur, it helps me understand better what you want. You can send as few or as many as you like. Rather than send me specific links (I won't click on them), send me correct terms for searches and/or screenshot what you looked up.
Unfortunately, I have to work day jobs to support life, bills, and art. As well as a freelance artist, I currently work several other jobs to stay afloat. This means commissions might take several weeks and up to months. If you are okay with waiting, it is extremely appreciated.
You are allowed to contact me to check on the commission progress, but I am sometimes easily overwhelmed. I appreciate your patience if I forget to send progress pics or take some time to respond back, but don't feel awkward about emailing for updates.
I will give you an estimated timeline once I start, and I do my best to hit deadlines. If I don't think I will make it, I am good about contacting you to let you know about changes.
GENERAL PROCESS
You contact me, and I accept your commission request.
We discuss what you want, price, and estimated timeframe in which artwork may be completed. This is based on if you are first in line. If there is an existing list of commissions, you will not get a detailed timeline but an idea of when I may be able to start on yours.
Once the details are settled, you will send me any references and ideas you have.
Full or at least half payment must be sent before any work begins.
Basic sketch - Once completed will be sent to you for review, changes, and approval.
Make all your major changes and requests before we move too far into the next step to avoid any additional charges for time spent.
Depending on the type of artwork, the next steps vary. Linework or color may be next. I typically try to keep you updated as the process moves forward to make sure you are happy with what is developing.
This is a good time to let me know of any final changes that may be needed before finishing up. Major changes may involve extra charges. I will tell you before continuing with them.
Refined but In-Progress - When I get to a point that it looks like I can finish up soon, I'll send a mostly finalized copy for review.
Any final small changes may be necessary here. You might see something that I missed or maybe the eye color is off.
Final Complete! - Once the final piece is completed, I will send you the original file (if digital) or ship out the piece per any prior agreements (for traditional media).
If this all sounds groovy to you, contact me at:

Pricing list
Most commonly used traditional media is colored pencil, ink, markers, and acrylic. I can also work in oils and watercolors.
Prices below are typically one character + simple background (if any).
Backgrounds, depending on complexity will add a minimum of $10-50.
Excessive changes throughout the commission process will add a minimum of +20 per change.
(I'm pretty open to adjustments, so just ask if you aren't sure. Completely changing a character, pose, or background after it's been agreed upon in earlier stages is what will trigger this.)Please feel free to email me with any questions.
